Project Budget:EUR 3.40 million
Concept: Autonomy in HealthCare Sector for persons with disabilities
The project seeks to advance the autonomy and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Europe by transforming healthcare systems into more accessible, inclusive, and responsive environments. Despite strong legal frameworks like the UNCRPD and the European Disability Strategy 2021–2030, PwD continue to face significant disparities in healthcare access, resulting in poorer health outcomes and limited participation in society. These challenges are driven by systemic barriers such as inadequate professional training, communication obstacles, outdated infrastructure, and a lack of integrated, person-centered care. The project will develop and implement innovative, evidence-based approaches to address these gaps—focusing on disability-inclusive training for healthcare professionals, accessibility improvements, and integrated service models.
