Advanced Polymer Materials
About
TÜBITAK MAM Chemical Process Technologies Research Group has an infrastructure and deep knowledge on polymer synthesis, advanced polymer nanocomposites, thermal conductive polymer nanocomposites, and nanostructured membrane materials. The basic idea of all research topics is the connection between the molecular structure of polymers and the mechanical properties or application properties of the polymer material. This results in the synthesis of model polymers with well-defined properties, e.g. topology and functionality on the one hand, and the characterization of mechanical properties using rheological and other characterization methods on the other.
The group is experienced in design and synthesis of polymers with well-defined architectures and has a deep knowledge on macromolecular engineering, basically on preparation of nanophase separated block-, graft- and star-shaped polymers and nanostructured membranes, particularly designed as novel electrolytes and selectively permeable polymeric/mixed matrix membranes for protective textile applications.
Currently, the group has ongoing projects on advanced polymer composites, particularly focused on synthesis of thermoplastic and thermoset resin systems for prepreg applications.
