About me
Paul Chatterton is the Lead and Founder of the Landscape Finance Lab, a groundbreaking global platform dedicated to incubating and financing sustainable landscapes. Launched in 2021 as a spin-off from WWF, the Lab pioneers innovative solutions to address complex landscape challenges, supported by a global network of experts.
A recognized leader in sustainability, climate, land use and green finance, Paul has spearheaded transformative initiatives including two of the world’s largest forest carbon programs, Europe’s longest river protected area, the largest rainforest reserve in the Pacific and financing platforms for peatland restoration in the UK and Ireland.
Paul co-authored The Little Sustainable Landscape Book and co-initiated Meridia (www.meridia.land), a cutting-edge mobile app providing affordable land tenure solutions for rural communities.
He has advised high-profile organizations such as the Climate Bonds Initiative, Gold Standard Foundation, World Economic Forum, EU Sustainable Finance Taxonomy and the Forest Stewardship Council, shaping policies and strategies at the forefront of sustainability.
Paul holds a Master’s degree with Merit in Anthropology and Development Studies from Sydney University and a Diploma in Management from IMD Business School in Switzerland.
