About me
Logan is the founding director of TED’s global education initiative, TED-Ed — an award-winning website 13 Webby Awards), content format (TED-Ed Animations) and program offering that serves millions of teachers and students throughout the world every day. Prior to working for TED, Logan was selected as a TED Fellow for his roles as director, editor and composer of the nonprofit, feature-length documentary, Darius Goes West (28 film festival awards, 2007). Logan is also the founder of CallMeIshmael.com — a participatory literary initiative and that was an honoree for the National Book Foundation’s Innovations In Reading Prize in 2015, and has since become a published book. Logan began his career as a high school special education teacher in his hometown of Athens, GA, and he currently lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
My organisation
TED-Ed's mission is to spark and celebrate the ideas of teachers and students around the world. My team turns teachers’ best lessons into high-quality animated videos and then shares them online, for free. The videos are currently being viewed by over 2 million learners per day. We’ve also developed two dynamic programs -- TED-Ed Student Talks and TED-Ed Educator Talks -- that help students and educators master the art of public speaking.
