About me

Lucia Mair is a physician and medical anthropologist whose work broadly focuses on issues of social and health inequality at the intersection of political mobilization, health experiences, and welfare state infrastructure. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Medical Anthropology and Global Health group at the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna. Previously, she worked as a doctor and consultant in global health with a focus on vaccine access and global infectious diseases, gaining experience in healthcare settings in Germany, Israel, Kenya, and the United Kingdom. She is a co-founder of the NGO Feministische Medizin e.V., which advocates for health equity and anti-discrimination in healthcare. She is also part of the feminist health magazine OurBodies.at
