My organisation

Social Impact Award (SIA) empowers youth to make a difference in 15+ countries across Europe, Central Asia, and Africa. We support their development into active agents of change that build social ventures and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. We do so by hosting local events and organizing workshops on social entrepreneurship, running incubation programs to help validate and prototype impact and business models, and nurturing this global community of resilient social entrepreneurs whose stories raise awareness about the field and inspire local youth to take action. This all gets us closer to a world where all young people realize their potential as agents of change.

About me

Martin Nicolaï currently serves as the global communications lead of Social Impact Award, one of the largest communities of young social innovators around the world, where he has been building the organization's marketing and communications infrastructure since 2020. He now leads and supports a dozen communicators who have helped over 50.000 young people across 25 countries transition towards a career with impact and create initiatives that solve the most pressing issues of our time.

Martin's practice is rooted in a deep commitment to creative media and the arts. He delivers physical and digital activations across this entire spectrum, ranging from large-scale communications campaigns to photography exhibits, radio shows and more. The premise is always the same: impact-driven organizations still largely fail to tell their story to young people in a compelling way. His work focuses on putting good storytelling and innovative media at the forefront to build communities and get people excited about a better world.

Martin's journey started in fashion in NYC, where he built the marketing infrastructure of a sneaker start-up called THEY. He later transitioned towards leading impact-driven projects and national campaigns focusing on the advancement of sustainability through the private sector across Canada.

With the rest of his time, Martin DJs, does lots of sports, and nerds out about music. He's currently based in Vienna, but spends lots of time at home in NYC.
