David is the Head of Sales and Business Development for Grinsty Rail an SME based in Redditch and Nottingham. He is also a board director of the Rail Forum and an advisor to the railway skills academy at Derby Roundhouse College.
He has worked in the railway industry for 46 years having started as an apprentice mechanical engineer with BREL in Derby in 1978 and has also worked for DB in the UK and Germany, Dellner Couplers, Pullmans and has significant experience in both the UK and overseas markets.
Expanded many companies performance in terms of sales and profits both through UK and export opportunities and he is an Export Champion by the Department for Business and Trade.

Grinsty Rail are a UK based innovative designer & manufacturer of electronic components and seats for the for all types of rail vehicles including light rail, DMU's EMU's, locomotives. Our main products are data recorders, crash protected memory, remote condition monitoring, de-icing units and passenger comfort sensors. We also have a division that repairs and overhauls all types of railway seats for passenger area, drivers and non-drivers seats and tram seating
