Lava stone stable coating

Lava rock generally has a lower density than other igneous rocks due to its porous nature. This lower density facilitates its use in construction and ornamental applications. It has good thermal insulation and acoustic properties. It is a good choice for providing natural insulation. However, its change in appearance when exposed to weather and sunlight makes its use as a facade cladding difficult. R&Dnano applied a black sol-gel coating which, exposed to weathering (frost, rain, and sunlight) for 15 years, shows very little alteration in its appearance.
