About me
Richard G. Maroun is the Vice-Rector for Research and a former Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at Saint Joseph University of Beirut. He is a Professor of Biochemistry and Virology and the Director of the Laboratory for the Characterization of Bioactive Molecules. He pursued his higher education in France, where he obtained a PhD and a Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR). He is a sworn expert in Microbiology and Epidemiology and has undergone advanced training in innovation management. Additionally, he is a senior expert in HACCP, food analysis, and food biotechnology.
Richard G. Maroun serves as a board member of Berytech and is also part of the Administrative Committee of the Berytech Foundation. His research focuses on the valorization of industrial by-products and waste, the development of innovative food products, and the design of antiviral molecules. He has published 156 scientific articles and presented his research at 54 international scientific conferences. He is also the co-author of 11 patents.
