George Sielis

Dr. Georgios A. Sielis, holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Cyprus (2021–2023), complementing his technical background with advanced management training. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the same institution, focusing on context-aware recommendation systems for software design enhancement. His doctoral work introduced ArchReco, a tool integrating design patterns into software modeling processes through contextual recommendations. Prior to this, he completed an MSc in Computer Science and Information Technologies at the University of Patras, where he developed virtual learning environments for student behavior prediction. His foundational education includes a BEng in Computer Engineering & Informatics, also from the University of Patras, where he applied computational intelligence to user modeling.

Professional Experience

Currently serving as Head of the IoT Software Development Department at CyRIC. He leads teams in developing cutting-edge IoT solutions. Previously, he spent five years as a Software Engineer Lead at TSYS Cyprus (2018–2023), overseeing payment software systems. His industry roles also include senior software development positions at Profile SW (2017–2018) and CyRIC (2015–2017), where he contributed to enterprise-grade software projects.

In academia, Georgios is serving as a Part-Time Lecturer at the American University of Cyprus and the European University of Cyprus, teaching graduate and postgraduate courses. His early career included research assistantships at the University of Cyprus’ S.E.I.T. Lab, where he worked on EU-funded projects.
