About

Emil Banca is a cooperative bank oriented towards social responsibility, which utilizes economic resources to generate well-being and contributes to the development of the territories in which it operates.

With over a century of history and the experience of the 19 Rural and Artisan Banks from which it originated, Emil Banca is a local credit cooperative that has always been involved in real finance.

The wealth of the territory is used in favor of families and small and medium-sized enterprises to once again become energy for the development of the local economy.

Emil Banca interacts daily with the socio-economic context through 97 branches in the provinces of Bologna, Ferrara, Mantua, Modena, Parma, Piacenza, and Reggio Emilia.

Challenge

Emilbanca, a subsidiary of the BCC Iccrea Group, is a leading cooperative banking group in Italy. Emilbanca faces a challenge in efficiently accessing information dispersed across its vast intranet, hampering employee productivity and increasing reliance on internal help desks. To address this need, Emilbanca seeks a solution that empowers its workforce while ensuring data reliability, completeness and security compliance. The researched solution entails the development of a software capable of efficiently mining relevant information from various internal sources, such as credit manuals and forms, within the intranet to provide operational guidance to users on how to address specific tasks (e.g., instructions on how to run a procedure) or to locate information within the sources. This software, leveraging semantic analysis techniques, will interpret natural language queries from employees, discerning the underlying intent and extracting precise responses. Moreover, it will evolve over time, learning from user interactions to expand its knowledge base and enhance response accuracy.

Key objectives include reducing dependence on internal support channels, mitigating the amount of assistance tickets, and fostering employee autonomy in accessing crucial information. By integrating disparate data sources into a unified framework, the software will generate coherent and reliable responses to user inquiries.

Objectives

  • Scouting a comprehensive solution for efficient data retrieval from diverse internal sources by employees.

  • Seeking a TRL 8: system complete and qualified.

  • Emilbanca is interested in collaborating with startups/scaleups to co-develop a PoC or to launch pilot projects together.
