About me

I started my career as a Materials Engineer when I joined Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) India. I was selected as a Scientist trainee to complete my Masters in CSIR institute (Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT)), and after that I was selected as a Materials Scientist to join CSIR-Advance materials and processes research institute (CSIR-AMPRI).

As a materials scientist I worked on materials such as steels, copper-based alloys (SMAs) and developed a vast experience in different processing and characterization technique. I have an experience of different processing and material characterization techniques such as additive manufacturing, induction melting corrosion testing, microscopy (SEM, TEM), Tensile testing, XRD and XRF etc. I have involved in project proposal writing and worked as Co-investigators for different funded projects. Under these projects four to five processing instruments were installed at CSIR-AMPRI Bhopal under my supervision. Recently a centre for Additive Manufacturing was stablished at CSIR-AMPRI under my supervision. Under this centre I procured and installed a laser and E-beam based powder bed fusion (LPBF) metal printing machines to make CSIR-AMPRI a hub for advance manufacturing in India. The build volume of both the machines is 200X200X350mm and 275X275X400mm respectively. We also have most of the advanced characterization facilities required for testing of metals and alloys which included, but not limited to, SEM TEM, XRD, UTM, DSC etc.

At Monash University, I worked on corrosion studies and additively manufacturing of 316L alloy. Monash Centre for additive manufacturing and corrosion department are renowned departments in the world for their expertise.
