Location:Hall 3
  • Citizen Engagement & Education

Join our workshop organised by Cool Blue Future and the Blue Bio Techpreneurs project to explore the essential role of education in shaping a sustainable and innovative blue economy. This interactive session will focus on how fostering skills and knowledge in the younger generation is crucial to achieving the EU's sustainability and growth goals.

Participants will engage in dynamic case presentations that highlight emerging challenges and opportunities in the blue bioeconomy, including new uses of the seas, fisheries management, and career pathways in blue biotechnology. Through group discussions and role-playing, you will explore different perspectives on these cases, from students and public authorities to industry professionals.

The workshop will also focus on career pathways in the blue economy, identifying the types of workers needed and the education required to support these roles. Participants will have the opportunity to brainstorm solutions to overcome barriers in marine and biotechnology education, with a focus on how to make these fields more attractive to students.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights into the future of the blue bioeconomy and how education can drive innovation and sustainability. Join us to be part of the conversation and help shape the future of this crucial sector!
