Accelerating our experimental processes

We are searching for a collaboration with an SME/organisation with high competence regarding multiphysics simulations and optimization. This SME/organisation should have experience with respect to sensor measurements, and utilizing them as input in multiphysics models (Including building Reduced Order Models and dynamic alternation of model parameters).

theSARMproject has innovated in implementing 3D CAD and conducting preliminary CFD studies for a novel gas compressor prototype, which has been manufactured and is at the stage of field testing and optimization. By combining the knowledge of the two entities, an online platform should be developed to enhance the prototype development, while the prototype itself will proceed to a higher TRL.

theSARMproject does numerous experimental campaigns for its prototypes. The SME/organisation will create a virtual representation of the prototypes, through a web platform model asset. The experimental procedure will include the installation of sensors for the prototype operation (RPMs, pressure, temperatures, vibrations), the measures of which will be uploaded to an IoT platform and made available through data analytics. The measurements will be utilized as input in a Simulation model composed of blocks representing prototypes' components, as well as in multiphysics Finite Element simulations developed by the SME/organisation in the form of Reduced Order Models, to calculate the distributions of thermomechanical stresses in 3D geometry, as well as air velocities and density from Computational Fluid Dynamics and fatigue stresses to predict working cycles before failure (predictive maintenance). The post-processed results will be made available through the developed platform for the user, in the form of time series graphical representations. The simulation results will be put against experimental results for the tuning of the Cyber-Physical System.
