About
IRSA is a private, non-profit organisation specializing in basic (academic) and applied research across social sciences using interdisciplinary and multi-method approaches. We cover fields such as sociology, political science, and cognitive science. We also offer consultation to governmental and non-governmental organisations and companies.
Some of the topics of our publications and research areas:
- Socio-cultural effects during crises, such as the effectiveness of epidemiological measures during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, communication between politicians and experts, trust of the public in government institutions and science (see: https://bit.ly/adamgorisek).
- Democratic governance and participation, attitudes towards democracy, including topics such as social inequalities, exclusion and marginalization (see: https://bit.ly/4bB5biv).
- The rule of law, legislation, human rights, and minority rights (see: https://bit.ly/3Vf7guA).
- Community-driven research, knowledge exchange between academia and the industry.
- Comparative studies of regional development, innovation capacity and digital competences of rural and urban areas (see: https://bit.ly/4dWz6Tf).
Methodologically, we combine qualitative and quantitative methodologies, meta-analysis, case studies, and comparative methods. We have extensive experience in qualitative methods such as semi-structured and phenomenological interviews, focus groups, content and discourse analysis, often utilizing computer programs like Atlas.ti and fuzzy-analysis techniques like QCA.
