It was established by the University of Alicante in 2010. As of February 2025, the PCA hosts 54 companies, employing over 4.000 professionals. These enterprises primarily operate in sectors such as water, biotechnology, health, information and communication technologies (ICT), and circular economy. Collectively, they have invested more than €10 million in research and development (R&D).
Alicante Science Park is one of the few Sciience parks in Europe that truly facilitate the internationalisation of their companies
