Paul Verrinder
Postdoc
Aalto University
Espoo, Finland
I am a photonic device researcher with a particular interest in compound semiconductors for lasers, LEDs, and integrated photonics.
About me
I completed my PhD at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 2023, where I researched GaAs tunable lasers, and monolithic integration of III-V lasers on Silicon. I am currently a postdoc at Aalto researching high efficiency GaAs based LEDs.
My background is in III-V photonics (from growth to fab and device testing), and I hope to use that experience in collaboration with industry to develop innovative new technology.
My organisation
Aalto University is a multidisciplinary community where science and art meet technology and business. Together with VTT, Aalto hosts the Micronava cleanroom facility. Research in Micronova focuses on micro and nanotechnology, material and device physics, and optics.
