About me

Dr. Petra Weiermayer graduated with a Doctorate from the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna in 2007 and completed her Equine Internship in 2008. After working in equine practice in 2012 she opened her own veterinary practice. From 2009 to 2014 she was employed as Clinical expert to the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Security GmbH (AGES). Since May 2023 she is a scientific employee at the Department Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria. In 2009 she achieved the EAVH (European Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy) diploma, in 2018 she completed the 5 years training as Specialist veterinarian for homeopathy of the Austrian Veterinary Association acknowledged by the Austrian Chamber of Veterinarians. She is currently President of the OEGVH (Austrian Society for Veterinary Homeopathy) and between 2015 and 2018 served as General Secretary of IAVH (International Association for Veterinary Homeopathy). Since 2019 she is coordinator of the Research Section of WissHom (Scientific Society for Homeopathy). Since 2022 she is Deputy Secretary of the Austrian Umbrella Association for Holistic Human Medicine. She has lectured on veterinary homeopathy and epidemiology around the world, and in recent years she has focussed on the role of integrative medicine, especially homeopathy in addressing the issue of antibiotic resistance.
