About me
Eefje Belt-van Zoen is a health scientist, trained at Maastricht University, who works as a lecturer/PhD student at University of Applied Sciences Leiden. She studies the effect of two eHealth applications (the Dutch Feverapp and a Natural Medicinal Products decision-making-tool) on antibiotic use for uncomplicated upper respiratory tract infections among children in Dutch primary care, aiming to reduce antimicrobial resistance and to prevent damage on the gut microbiome. Besides her research activities, she is program manager and lecturer at the Master of Advanced Nursing Practice and also acts as a masterthesis supervisor. Her PhD-research is supervised by Prof. Dr. Erik Baars, and she is planning to finish her dissertation in 2025. She carries out her research in collaboration with the department of Vascular Medicine of Amsterdam University Medical Centers under supervision of Prof. Dr. Max Nieuwdorp.
