RIVCIrcular is a European Project co-funded under Horizon Europe Programme from Pilar III - European Innovative Ecosystem

The Regional Innovation Valleys (RIVs) initiative is one of 25 actions of the New European Innovation Agenda. It aims to unlock Europe’s full innovation potential by connecting regions with varying levels of innovation and addressing societal challenges through cutting-edge technology. By leveraging their competitive advantages and complementary strengths, participating regions collaborate to bridge the innovation gap and enhance Research & Innovation ecosystems.

The RIVCircular project fosters collaboration among six European regions: Madrid (Southern Europe), Haute de France (Central Europe), Innlandet and Brandenburg (Northern Europe), and Kosice and Kiev (Eastern Europe).

RIVCircular connects innovation ecosystems across six European Regions across four EU Member States (Spain, France, Germany and Slovakia) and two Horizon Europe Associated Countries (Norway and Ukraine) to drive progress in the circular economy.

Focusing on five key priorities within the circular economy, the project aims to drive progress in:

Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW)
Circular energy integration: valorising local waste streams for industrial efficiency
Electric Vehicles (EV) Batteries Recycling and Reuse
Circular Economy in Textile Industry
Enhancing Digitalisation in Circular Economy Processes

RIVCircular seeks to enhance policy-making by actively engaging stakeholders, civil society organizations, and experts, build capacity by strengthening skills and expertise among professionals in participating regions, and create meaningful impact through communication, dissemination, and exploitation of results.

The RIVCircular matchmaking platform facilitates the search for partners for our RIVCircular cascade funding calls, connecting innovators, SMEs, and researchers with complementary expertise among Spain, France, Germany, Norway, Slovakia and Ukraine. Through an intelligent matching algorithm, users can find and engage with potential collaborators based on shared interests, project needs, and funding requirements. The platform fosters cross-border partnerships, enhancing opportunities for successful applications and impactful innovation projects.
