About
Hey! I’m really into exploring how the brain’s energy systems work, with a particular focus on astrocytes and their role in metabolism. My research combines several cool techniques like microdialysis to sample what's happening in the brain and metabolomics to dig into the details of energy pathways. I also use genetically encoded fluorescent metabolite sensors to track metabolites in real-time, often pairing that with live-cell imaging to watch cells in action.
I work with in vitro cultures and use metabolic tools like the Seahorse analyzer and Oroboros respirometry to study how cells, especially brain cells, use energy. These techniques give me a close look at mitochondrial function and cellular respiration.
On the side, I am a hitchhiker. It’s a fun way to travel and meet new people.
