IRIS IoT Ecosystem for smart water utilities
About
IRIS IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) is an ecosystem of environmental and climate-related wireless sensors, data loggers and cloud software that provides a unique platform to monitor numerous on field parameters of water utilities.
Since no external power supply is required, it can be deployed over remote and isolated geographical extensions, thus providing real-time information for the management of natural resources, infrastructures, and facilities. Typical applications are: • Climate change. • Smart cities (health centres, public buildings, street lighting...). • Water infrastructures. • Air quality. • Green energy plants. • Monitoring compliance with energy restrictions. • Wildfires prevention and monitoring. • Natural resources (water, marine and forestry). • Agriculture.
ISURLOG ecosystem is based on the state-of-the-art SP-IIoT-SAP (Self Powered Industrial Internet of Things Sensor Access Point) technology, thus offering: • Not even rechargeable batteries are needed for operation, using a disruptive energy harvesting supply. • Data monitoring and device management from/to any smart terminal. • Alarm messaging on Telegram and email. • General purpose input/outputs allowing the connection of practically any sensor. • On the cloud data hosting. • IIoT-NB and LoRa connectivity options.
ISURLOG units can be deployed as either a stand-alone device or as a decentralized distributed periphery of the IRIS IIoT ecosystem (like a wireless sensor access point of the IRIS BOX RTU neural network controller and gateway, providing remote access to a wide geographical area). ISURLOG uploads logged data files to the cloud in a user-configurable interval, ranging from 5 up to 1440 minutes. Logged data files are Google Drive accessible in a .csv format, thus providing direct importation from any datasheet application. ISURLOG includes easy user configurable UDP/MQTT/Modbus links to third-party industrial automation devices, such as PLCs, PCs and controllers… automatically transmitting ASCII strings containing the last logged parameters values. Therefore, ISURLOG virtually acts as a wireless decentralized I/O unit of any smart device including a UDP/MQTT/Modbus port.
