GreenTech Innovation: Solving Sustainability Challenges in the City of Winterthur. | Kohlenkraft
Workshop Description:
This workshop will highlight Stadt Winterthur’s strategy to achieve Net Zero by 2040 and the role of GreenTech startups in driving innovation. Marisa Kappeler-Schudel from the Office for Urban Development will provide an overview of the Smart City & Sustainable Development initiative and how the Klima-Cockpit is used to track progress. Following this, two Winterthur-based GreenTech startups will present their cutting-edge solutions: Moritz Pill from Borobotics will showcase an innovative robot that improves efficiency and lowers costs for drilling boreholes for ground source heat pumps. Sophia Summer from KohlenKraft will introduce an additive capable of reducing the CO2 footprint of construction materials by 100% or more. Be sure to note key insights from the presentations, as the workshop will conclude with an exciting game of Bingo! Five winners will take home a carbon-negative plant pot, handmade in Switzerland by KlimaKumpel.
