About
European countries face two paramount societal challenges: the need for a rapid electrification to meet the climate goals and a thorough reinforcement of the defence capabilities, as a consequence of a worsening security situation. The last years have shown that energy and security issues are tightly interconnected. Europe must get rid of its dependence of Russian oil and gas. In this situation it is unfortunate that deployment of wind power, which could provide more electricity at speed and at scale, is perceived to be in conflict with defence interests. Elevated Launch AB integrates defence infrastructure in wind power plants and exploits their advanced and elevated position to transform wind power plants from a disturbance to a strategic asset for the defence authorities. Potentially, this concept can change the goal-conflict between wind power and defence interests into a synergy. Ultimately, this can contribute to simultaneous unlocking of new wind power sites and establishment of a stronger defence line.
