Certimac is a private non-profit research and certification technical body, founded by ENEA and CNR, whose mission is to boost innovation processes in the building sector and industry through R&D, testing, evaluation and certification of advanced and innovative materials, products and solutions.

Certimac is specialised in product analysis, certification and industrial research. It offers technical expertise and innovative services to certify and enhance the performance of materials, components and processes, particularly regarding energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, circularity, safety and healthiness of products and indoor environments in the building and construction industry. Additionally, Certimac supports companies and public administration (municipalities and Public Agencies) in their paths of technological innovation, energy and ecological transition through R&D and technological transfer. 

Certimac supports climate change mitigation actions, promoting the recycling and reuse of resources, such as industrial waste, to optimise the industrial production process and sustainability and to contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions. Certimac’s expertise in the energy efficiency process can support industries (especially SMEs) and private households to reduce energy consumption and save energy, through a wide variety of interventions such as the construction of Positive Energy District, the rationalisation of the consumption of primary energy, and the promotion of renewable energy sources. Certimac integrates its efforts in creating a green and resilient society and mitigating the climate change effects with education and capacity-building activities for students, citizens, professionals and public officers.
