Treatment of chemical waste in a cost-efficient and sustainable way
About
With a unique microfluidic and robotic technology the team developed at ETH Zurich, they can attract and capture specific bacteria specialized in degrading chemical pollutants. They then combine these bacteria into products able to biologically degrade the target chemicals and use them in industry to replace incineration of chemical waste. Their main focus at the moment is biodegradation of PFAS and pharmaceutical products, for which they have a promising bacterial degraders they are currently optimizing.
