About

Essentially, at SQIM we prove that it is possible to actively collaborate with Nature, for delivering performance-driven, high-quality products, that derive from biological processes rooted in regeneration, as opposed to conventional approaches based on exploitation/extraction of finite resources, and their deriving negative consequential impacts.

Accordingly, we partner with fungi to biofabricate innovative materials and products categories, contributing to harmonising human-driven activities with the rhythms and functioning of the larger ecosystem, always starting from the valorisation of residues from other value chains by means of tailored fermentation-based processes, allowing to engineer and structure a variety of materials suitable for diverse applicative purposes. In short, we penetrate the market with technologies and products that contribute to strongly mitigate environmental impacts and to advance sustainable practices, without compromising on key aspects such as performance, aesthetics, and overall quality.

Today, our offering already benefits multiple industries, as addressed through our two business lines and brands, Ephea and Mogu

With Ephea we deliver to market the most advanced class of mycelium-based materials, revolutionising values, functionality, and opportunities primarily for the fashion industry, and for other industries too, such as for example in the case of the Automotive sector and beyond, setting the highest quality standards for our material’s category.

Ephea materials are grown from and consisting of fungal mycelium - the vegetative body of mushrooms - and they’re engineered through proprietary processes to achieve a low ecological footprint, without compromising on technical performance, unique haptics, and seductive aesthetics.

As for Mogu, we deliver bio-composite products mainly dedicated to interior design/architecture, including panels for acoustic absorption (Mogu Acoustic), wall panels for decorative purposes embedding sound-absorbing as well as thermal insulating properties (Mogu Pluma), as well as flooring solutions (Mogu Flex).
