About

Conventional combustion engine technology is responsible for much of the current emission challenges. This technology is about 25 - 35% efficient and dependent on fossil fuels. Carnot has developed a next generation engine, operating between 68 - 72% efficient and using a range of decarbonised fuels including Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol, Biofuels, LNG and Diesel. By doubling efficiency, we half fuel consumption and deliver enormous cost savings to customers. With each engine able to operate on a wide range of fuels, we can offer a very flexible and low risk approach to decarbonising, with customers able to switch fuels as required. With the core technology validated in our Engine Test Site, the focus of 2025 is to deliver field trials to prove the technology in real world applications, including the UK's first Hydrogen Auxiliary Engine sea trials. Investors include the University of Oxford and several global Shipping companies.
