About
KnoWow is a spin-off of the University of Messina and is also an innovative startup and knowledge company, whose main client is Ferrari. Our business focuses on rapid material characterization using proprietary technologies, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for EPD certification and compliance with CAM regulations, Sustainability Reporting, Smart Design, Testing & Simulation, Digital Twin technology, Virtual and Augmented Reality, and Mechatronics. We effectively utilize Artificial Intelligence in all our products and services.
We like to define ourselves as “Tailors of Engineering.” We craft the right innovative solution for our clients.
Our target market includes all metalworking and manufacturing companies, ranging from automotive to biomedical sectors.
One of our products, resulting from technology transfer, is the “RFM - Rapid Fatigue Machine,” developed from 15 years of research by some of the spin-off founders. This bench machine is capable of ultra-fast material testing, especially in additive manufacturing, reducing testing times for determining mechanical properties from one month to just one day.
Our main achievements include:
-
Official suppliers to Ferrari
-
Participation in the development and safety of the innovative high-speed boat championship, E1 Series
-
Winners of the PNRR Q-Sud project with a concept focused on Smart Design and Quantum Computing.
The founders of KnoWow are:
-
Three UNIME professors: Filippo Cucinotta (Full Professor of Industrial Design and expert in Aerodynamics and Sustainability), Giacomo Risitano (Full Professor of Mechanical Design and expert in Fatigue and Vehicles), Dario Santonocito (Researcher in Mechanical Design and expert in Numerical Simulations)
-
Three research grant holders: Danilo D’Andrea (engineer and expert in Testing), Fabio Salmeri (engineer and expert in LCA), Marcello Raffaele (engineer and expert in Virtual and Augmented Reality).
The employees of KnoWow are:
-
Carmelo Serraino (Engineer and Head of Simulation)
-
Claudio Agati (Engineer and Head of Testing)
-
