MAMA SCIENCE srls is an innovative start-up specializing in the research, production and sale of biomimetic materials. MAMA SCIENCE products are based on proprietary synthesis processes inspired by nature in a logic of sustainable development and respect for the environment.

The products and solutions developed by MAMA SCIENCE are unique and innovative. The common characteristics are based on the company's know-how in materials engineering, biomimicry and nanotechnologies. The company has developed different technologies and a range of products that are unique in terms of their characteristics, properties and functionality. MAMA SCIENCE's products are used in without modifying the production processes of its partner companies simply by replacing traditional materials with durable and safe materials. These unique properties allow use in many fields, including sectors subject to strong normative or technical regulations.

The company has developed several proprietary technologies from which two product ranges were born. The first consists of totally bio-based materials for active and sustainable packaging and food-packaging applications of new concept both for product and for production process, biodegradable with unique characteristics given the process and the final properties capable of increasing the shelf-life of food products and to replace plastic packaging while guaranteeing the same properties. 

The other category is made up of biomaterials that can be used as additives within different matrices which guarantee an active power against microorganisms, creating a self-sanitising and anti-odour effect over time, whilst containing only elements normally present in natural systems in very low quantities which their properties thanks to a synergistic effect deriving from the synthesis process
