Brazilian Network for Education and Research - RNP

We are the Brazilian network for education and research. A digital communication and collaboration platform that works to promote and implement innovation in information technology applications.

In order to democratize access to knowledge, we connect more than 4 million Brazilian students, professors and researchers in universities, educational and cultural institutes, research agencies, teaching hospitals, technological parks and hubs.

In 1992, we helped bring the Internet to Brazil, meeting the wishes of the academic community. And today, our network reaches all states of the country, offering our secure and high-capacity services. We are also interconnected to other education and research networks in Latin America, North America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania through terrestrial and submarine optical fiber cables.

We are qualified as a Social Organization, linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and maintained by it, together with the Ministries of Education (MEC), Communications (MCom), Health (MS) and Defense (MD), in addition to the Special Secretariat for Culture, linked to the Ministry of Tourism (SC/MTur), which participate in the Interministerial RNP Program (PRO-RNP).
