About

Sientists from the Gdańsk University of Technology (PG) in cooperation with scientists from the Medical University of Gdańsk (GUMed) developed an early prototype of a non-contact device that allows breathing and heart rate monitoring. The device has undergone a pilot study stage, which confirmed the feasibility of this type of device and the possibility of use in a medical environment.

The device has significant potential for use in a hospital environment. Its non-contact nature eliminates the need to put belts and other elements directly on the patient's body, which significantly speeds up the process of monitoring vital signs. This, in turn, allows for an increase in the number of patients who can be admitted per day.

The device will be equiped with AI features will support medicians in diagnosis & treatment of heart failure, which is a global health problem that is estimated to affect approximately 64 million people worldwide.

Goal: TRL 9 (EU certified medical device) within 36 months.

Hardware & software development & AI.
