About me

Ivana Alona, MD,MPH

Ivana Alona is the Director of Education, Training, Research, and Collaboration of Universitas Sumatera Utara. She is also a doctor graduated from Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara. She also has a background in Public Health which was achieved from the University of Adelaide as a Master of Public Health in 2011. She was involved in a vaccination in pregnancy acceptance research funded by the South Australia Health. In 2021-2023 she was involved in a project of “evaluating zoonotic malaria transmission and agricultural land use in Indonesia”. She also has background of working with the community such as Community Empowerment on Tuberculosis program funded by USAID; working at Primary Health Cares in remote areas in Aceh; and working as volunteers to Aceh tsunami’s victims. Recently, she is also involved with Duke-NUS in a project of “Health System Evaluation Pandemic Preparedness in Indonesia and Vietnam”.
