About

Monica Albini is a 28-year-old Junior Researcher based in Italy and specialising in Artificial Intelligence.

Her journey into the innovation sphere began in 2022 when she graduated and was awarded a research scholarship in AI at the University of Turin, where she actively contributed to a research project entitled ‘Communicating AI in the European Context’. This focused on raising awareness of AI in society and on education, opportunities, risks and ethical considerations.

In October 2023 she was selected as the first person to undergo an ‘AI traineeship’ in DGT as part of the European Commission’s ‘blue book’ traineeship scheme. During her time in DGT’s eTranslation and AI unit in Luxembourg she extended her expertise in machine translation, prompt engineering and natural language processing.

Back in Italy in 2024 she resumed her role as a research scholar at the University of Turin’s informatics department, working on integrating AI into museum contexts, including creating immersive experiences using VR and AR.

Currently she primarily works as a researcher in AI and languages for the translation and localisation industry at Creative Words. Her responsibilities include supporting research projects on linguistic technologies, developing specialised courses on linguistic technologies and enhancing current internal AI workflows with analysis and improvements.
