About me
Patrick Feuerstein is a postdoctoral esearch fellow based at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB). He is the co-principal investigator for Fairwork Germany and coordinates Fairwork’s pledge campaign.Before joining the Fairwork project, Patrick was a lecturer, research associate and acting professor of sociology with a focus on ‘Digitalization in the World of Work’ and ‘Work, Organization and Economy’ at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen. He is also a member of the Sociological Research Institute at the Georg-August-University Göttingen (SOFI).
Patrick received his PhD in Sociology from the University of Göttingen with a thesis on the impact of IT offshoring on working conditions of software developers in Germany and India. Recent research projects have focused on collaborative and open innovation processes in the IT industry and on working and living conditions of workers in global production networks in the automotive and chocolate industries.
My organisation
The WZB Berlin Social Science Center conducts basic research with a focus on problems of modern societies in a globalized world. The research is theory-based, problem-oriented, often long-term and mostly based on international comparisons. Our research areas are: - Dynamics of social inequalities - Markets and choice - Society and economic dynamics - International politics and law - Dynamics of political systems - Migration and diversity - Political economy of development Around 200 scientists from various disciplines work together at the WZB, mainly from sociology, political science, economics, and law. They are supported by around 150 staff members in administration, IT, scientific information & data, and communication and by 115 student assistants.
