INEGI is an interface institute for technology transfer in the areas of Mechanical Engineering from Porto University, The Advanced Monitoring and Structural Integrity unit is dedicated to the development and implementation of structural monitoring from very high resolution interferometre based systems to image based sensing such as Digital Image Correlation or Active and Passive thermography. This R&D unit is also proficient in material and component mechanical characterization and testing from low, quasi-static strain rates up to medium and high strain rates, as well as ballistic testing.
