İzmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) is a Turkish state university established in 1992 to offer higher education and carry out research in the fields of science and technology. The medium of instruction at our institute is English. It is currently the only internationally distinguished advanced technical university in Turkey. The campus is located fat the seaside town of Urla, İzmir in 1999. Within Turkey, our university is known as “İzmir Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü,” abbreviated as “İYTE.” Our international name is İzmir Institute of Technology, or “IZTECH” for short.

About me

Gulnur AYGUN was graduated from Engineering Physics Department, Ankara University, Ankara, Turkey.

She gained her M.Sc. degree from Physics Department at The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA.

During her Ph.D. studies, she visited Chalmers University, Sweden, for the purpose of infrastructure usage under the FP6 European Union project.

She also worked in a bilateral project conducted between TUBITAK and Bulgarian Academy of Sciences project. She  realized mutual visits from both countries.

She got her Ph.D. from Physics Department of Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey as specializing in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics.

She worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow in “Fraunhofer, IISB, Erlangen-GERMANY”.

She became an Associate Proffessor  in 2011.

She has been working in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics as a Full Professor at the Physics Department of IZTECH since 2018.
