About me
Michael Glotz-Richter is an internationally recognised mobility consultant and transport planner. With a professional background as a civil engineer for urban and regional planning (Technical University Berlin), his career has included 40 years in various local and provincial German authorities (Berlin, Cologne, Bremen) and as a freelance consultant.
Michael has initiated and conducted several internationally recognised pilot projects in the field of sustainable mobility – especially with the integration of sharing into neighbourhood-oriented strategies and new developments. Being active within CiViTAS right from the very beginning, the City of Bremen was awarded with CiViTAS Awards 2005, 2014 and 2019.
He was first chair of the CiViNET for German speaking countries. Michael as a person received the CiViTAS Lifetime Award ( 2019).
Michael is a member of the European Commission’s Expert Group on Urban Mobility (EGUM) and initiated and chairs its working group on street space.
