The transformation towards the 'factory of the future' is planned according to the suitable options, aiming at the best combination of electrification, renewables, alternative fuels, energy storage, process optimisation, CO2 capture and reuse.

The working method involves an initial 'as-is' situation analysis phase, followed by a scouting to identify applicable innovative technological solutions. This is followed by the creation of a digital twin model of the plant(s), or more in detail of individual processes, taking into account economic, technical and environmental parameters and constraints. This makes it possible to obtain the optimal sustainability scenarios for the perimeter under consideration. The results obtained then converge into an intervention roadmap, accompanied by a business model and identification of the technological partners suitable for project implementation.
