A final R&D Partner is needed to address:

• Integration of sustainable rainwater harvesting infrastructure.

• Waste stream composting for land enrichment.

The proposed project addresses critical challenges faced by South European islands. These islands are grappling with the deterioration of soil quality, heavy reliance on fossil fuels for energy generation, limited arable land, underutilization of waste streams, and water scarcity due to their isolation from mainland resources. To combat these issues, we present an innovative and integrated approach to sustainable agriculture that synergizes agrivoltaics, rainwater harvesting, smart grid systems, and waste stream composting. This holistic strategy aims to create a symbiotic relationship between rejuvenation of soil health, transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, optimization of land usage, capitalization on waste resources, and secure a sustainable water supply.
