The objective of the Institute of Industrial Electronics, Electrical and Power Engineering and is to address non-standard problems, create new products, carry out international scientific research, and undertake industrial contract work in power electronics, motion control, logistics of mechatronic systems, and electric transportation. IEEEI is the leading institute in its field in Latvia, providing world-class research. The institute collaborates with other scientific institutions within the framework of Latvian and European Union projects, with various leading Latvian companies, as well as with universities in North America, South America, India, and China. In 2005, the institute was admitted to the European Center for Power Electronics (ECPE), which brings together Europe's leading manufacturing companies and scientific institutions working in the field of power electronics.
