About me
Prof Cemil Alkan is a chemistry department graduate of a public university (Middle East Technical University) where English is the language of education. He is a physical chemist with a PhD in polymer science and technology. He has been an active researcher in thermal energy storage materials in the Chemistry Department of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University since 2004, in addition to many topics of polymer science. Prof Alkan is the university's coordinator for energy storage studies and research because the university was uniquely awarded as an energy storage specialist by the Turkish Higher Education Council in 2023. He completed 2 international projects (EU ERANET New Indigo and RaEng) and supervised 1 ongoing (Eurostar) in an industrial company in addition to national and industrial projects funded by institutions in Türkiye. He published over 100 times on thermal energy storage issues and had 5 patent applications. He visited ZAE Bayern in Munchen for 3-month research periods 2 times. Prof Alkan is leading a research laboratory and has founded a test-buildings region at the university.
