Synthesis of anion exchange membrane and development of catalysts for alkaline water electrolyser
About
Anion exchange membranes are very important because they let hydroxide ions move while keeping other species from crossing over. These membranes need to possess high ion conductivity, good mechanical stability, and excellent chemical resistance to ensure long-term durability and performance in alkaline environments. It is also very important to develop catalysts for alkaline water electrolysers because they decrease the cost of the electrolyser. These catalysts need to exhibit high activity, stability, and optimal performance. In my current project, we are developing the nickel-based catalyst and also synthesizing the anionic polymer. We evaluate the performance of the catalyst by measuring its activity and stability at half-cell and single-cell conditions using electrochemical techniques.
