The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) is the leading agency for management, funding and conduct of research in Turkey. It was established in 1963 with a mission to advance science and technology, conduct research and support Turkish researchers. Furthermore, with near 4000 researchers work in 20 research institutes of TÜBİTAK where contract research as well as targeted and nation-wide research is conducted. TÜBİTAK is also responsible from the general coordination EU Framework Programmes in Turkey and aims to increase the participation of Turkish stakeholders to the programme.
