Kinovan is an innovative creative media company that specializes in crossmedia services and transmedia storytelling strategies. At the heart of its offerings is the Kinovan, a fully equipped mobile Crossmedia Production Unit designed to revolutionize how audiovisual, interactive, and transmedia content is produced, streamed, and projected. Featuring a 65-inch LED smart TV screen and a 200-watt stereo sound system, the Kinovan enables high-quality digital out-of-home (DOOH) experiences for audiences, whether online or in public spaces. The distinctive innovation of Kinovan lies in its ability to bridge the gap between online mobile communication—typically a solitary, individual experience—and offline social spaces, such as public squares and pedestrian areas. This unique capability allows organizations to engage with their target audiences in dynamic and interactive ways, bringing cultural heritage or social projects to life through immersive experiences that reach both large and specific viewer bases. The result is a tailored, high-impact communication strategy that drives engagement at scale. Kinovan’s approach to audiovisual production integrates transmedia storytelling with user-generated contributions, ensuring that content is not only relevant but also delivered to audiences where they are most engaged. By leveraging digital and offline channels together, Kinovan offers a creative and complementary alternative to traditional television and web-based media, employing cross-media and cross-platform strategies to enhance the reach and effectiveness of messaging. A key area of focus for Kinovan is the creation of innovative content and experiences that combine entertainment and tourism with the semantic richness of cultural heritage. By using transmedia storytelling techniques, Kinovan helps clients—such as museums, foundations, and cultural organizations—promote and protect their intellectual property while engaging audiences across multiple platforms. This approach does not just enhance the cultural value of the heritage itself, but also diversifies its presentation, ensuring a unified narrative across different media and real-life experiences, all while amplifying the public image of the heritage owners. Kinovan’s innovative use of crossmedia communication, transmedia storytelling, and immersive audiovisual experiences makes it a pioneering force in the way cultural heritage and social messages are communicated in the digital age.

About me

Giovanni D'Aloia (born in Bari, 1975) is a creative producer, director and author with a diverse career spanning film, multimedia production, and innovative storytelling. He began his professional journey in 1998 with the short film/music video 21st Century Schizoid Man, inspired by the iconic King Crimson song. The work was showcased at several prestigious events, including the Fano Film Festival, Off Festival, and Enzimi (Rome).

In 2001, D'Aloia co-founded Kinotek (www.kinotek.org) with Mattia Casalegno, a pioneering VJing and live media production company. Through Kinotek, he participated in leading Italian and international festivals and events, including Arezzowave-Lovezone 2003, where he won the first Italian VJ competition. His early career also saw collaborations with renowned artists such as Paolo Monti and architect Laura Rossi, contributing video editing and live media for projects like Dune Sandpile and Fronte d'onda, the latter being an installation for the inauguration of the Piccolo Mondo Square in Rome.

D'Aloia graduated in 2003 in Communication Sciences from the University of Rome "La Sapienza," with a thesis on the Theories and Techniques of Cinematographic Language. Between 2007 and 2009, he worked with Eidolab on the web TV project Moebius TV and collaborated with Recidivi, a cinema network covering Puglia and Basilicata. He also participated in high-profile events like the Living on a Border festival, Comicon Festival (2008), and the Live Performers Meeting 08.

Throughout his career, D'Aloia has served as a creative producer, director, editor, and filmmaker on numerous audiovisual projects and broadcast productions. His clients include Panorama Film, Mediaset, Regione Puglia, Qoob, Current TV, Zooppa, Pulsemedia, and the Ahref Foundation, among others.

In 2008, D'Aloia began exploring the concept of "media convergence" and transmedia storytelling. This led to the founding of Kinovan in 2011, a creative media company focused on innovative audiovisual and multimedia production. Kinovan was selected for several prominent startup competitions, including Kublai, Working Capital, and H-farm. Today, Kinovan works with a range of high-profile clients such as Invitalia, Gyproc, Fondazione Unipolis, Di Leo, Museo Pascali, Puglia Promozione, Confindustria Bari-BAT, and Arci Servizio Civile.
