Myfolks

Myfolks uses the Myfolks app to arrange visits between elderly people in their own homes, and Myfolksers. Myfolksers are compassionate, fully vetted. We might do light household tasks, but the key element is that we put on the kettle, make a cuppa and have a chat. We use photos, music, scents and stories to make meaningful connection. What started out as a need for practical support has become increasingly about reducing social isolation and the dangers it brings - it is as damaging as smoking 15 cigarettes per day. Today, prevention is vital as our population ages, but doesn't always live well. We include a hospital discharge service. Of course, we are looking at the data, and further work on the identification and management of social isolation.
