Summary The rapid expansion of the IoT market and increasing cybersecurity risks necessitate advanced security solutions for EV charging stations. This pilot project aims to develop a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)-based security framework to enhance authentication, encrypted communication, secure firmware updates, and regulatory compliance (ISO 15118 – Plug & Charge, CRA). Key Benefits: Secure Authentication: PKI-based identity verification for charging stations and connected devices. Encrypted Communication: TLS and AES-GCM encryption for data protection. Firmware Update Security: Secure over-the-air (OTA) updates. Secure Payments & User Verification: Integrated cybersecurity for payment processes. Post-Quantum Security: Future-proofing against quantum threats. Regulatory Compliance: Full alignment with ISO 15118 and seamless integration with OCPP. By implementing this solution, EV charging stations will gain enhanced security, regulatory compliance, and a competitive market advantage.
