Sustainable plant protection with Lithos Micro Dispenser Technology (LMD)

Lithos Crop Protect developed and patented the "LMD -Lithos Micro Dispenser" technology. It allows sprayable products to apply "mating disruption" affordably and easy-to-use on large scale in row crops. "Mating disruption" is the worldwide most sustainable protection against harmful pests, as it only prevents them from mating instead of killing them. It is therefore completely harmless for bees, any other organisms (including humans), and the environment (air, soil, water).

However, "mating disruption" today is mainly used by applying manually distributed plastic dispensers. This cost-intensive method allows economic viable application only in specialty crops like orchards and wine.

The sprayable LMD-products allow the viable application in row crops such as maize, cereals, rice, etc. Lithos has developed and registered its first product against the Western Corn Rootworm and therefore successfully achieved the proof of concept. In 2026, this product will be introduced in the European market together with the contracted distribution partner Syngenta.

In order to fuel Lithos' growth into additional products against other pests and into other regions (particularly the Americas), Lithos is looking for additional investors.
