Giordano Cattani

I am an experienced professional with a strong background in physics and a proven track record in high-tech and semiconductor industries. My career has spanned CERN, Intel, and ASML, where I have honed skills in innovation, leadership, and business acumen within technologically-driven sectors. Currently, I am the Senior Procurement Manager at ASML, managing strategic relationships and supplier negotiations for critical EUV technology.

My academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in High Energy Physics from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata," with doctoral research at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. I was honored with prestigious grants like the Marie Curie Actions and INFN funding and co-authored over 300 publications as part of the ATLAS Collaboration. Beyond my professional achievements, I am deeply passionate about education and outreach, having taught Mathematics and Physics in Italian high schools and served as an Official CERN Guide.

As the Founder of Boson Solutions and GC | Career Counsellor, I now focus on consulting in grant writing, innovation, and business development. My expertise helps organizations secure funding, expand their product portfolios, and enter competitive markets such as semiconductors. Leveraging my procurement and project management experience, I also offer advisory, coaching, and mentorship to startups and established companies, empowering them to navigate challenges like negotiation, strategic planning, and market entry.

I am committed to fostering knowledge exchange and professional growth through my involvement in various initiatives. As a member of the CERN Alumni Advisory Board (CAAB), appointed by the CERN Director-General, I provide strategic guidance to CERN’s alumni program. I also contribute to shaping the future of Physics education and graduate training as an Advisory Board Member at the University of Salerno. In addition, I co-founded the CERN Alumni Eindhoven Group, creating a platform for alumni to share expertise and foster collaboration. Beyond my professional roles, I share my passion for science and culture as a Free Walking Tour Guide with GuruWalk, engaging with diverse audiences.

In the past, I have co-founded and served as Treasurer of the International Physicists Network (IPN), supported students and professionals as a Mentor with Mentors4U, and acted as a judge and marshal for Intel events.
