PhD in molecular biology. Currently leading the transfer of three-parent technology from science to soil, driving commercialization and business development.
Our research group at University of Bremen focuses on
Plant reproduction with a focus on polyspermy and the regulation of paternal contribution, 3PaTec (3P-Tec) - Three parents breeding technology for plants of the future.
As a professional in plant molecular genetics, I possess extensive expertise spanning over a decade in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology. My profound interest lies in pursuing innovative solutions aimed at addressing pressing global challenges. My collaboration with Rita Groß-Hardt, a renowned expert in plant sexual reproduction and a pioneer in polyspermy, has steered me towards practical applications of three-parent technology. I envision a paradigm shift in plant breeding, harnessing our technology's potential to cultivate climate-resilient varieties for a sustainable and food-secure future. This invention gives me and the team the unique opportunity to make a difference on this planet and work towards providing a sustainable solutions to humanity's urgent challenges. What this breakthrough technology needs is visibility and I am passionate to bring forward this technology that has for more than 10 years attracted highly competitive funding from European Union recognising its potential to create plants of the future.
